One person is dead following a collision in Surrey Monday afternoon.
Surrey RCMP responded to a complaint of a fatal motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 10 (56th Avenue) and 184th Street at around 4:40pm earlier today.
An Acura sedan travelling westbound on Highway 10 was turning left onto 184th street when it was struck by a Dodge Ram pickup travelling eastbound on Highway 10.
The T-bone crash “caused significant damage to both vehicles”. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger of the Acura suffered “catastrophic injury” and was declared deceased at the scene by BC Emergency Health Services.
“All parties remained at scene and are cooperating with the investigation. Alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor,” said police in a release.
