15-year-old hit by car outside Vancouver school suffers “serious and life-altering injuries”

A 15-year-old student sustained serious and life-altering injuries after being struck by a vehicle outside a Vancouver school Tuesday afternoon.



The teenager was stuck by a grey Mercedes while crossing West 16th Avenue near Wallace Street at around 2pm yesterday just as the school day was ending.

“She sustained serious and life-altering injuries, and was rushed to hospital, where she remains undergoing treatment,” said Cst. Tania Visintin in a release.



The driver remained on scene and the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is leading the ongoing investigation.
