A 19-year-old is facing charges following a “street disorder incident” in the Granville Entertainment District Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred shortly before 1:50am Wednesday morning, when a shop employee intervened after seeing a man knock over tables and brandish a knife at people.
“The suspect then started stabbing the store sign so the employee walked away and called police,” said Cst. Megan Lui.
Officers were able to locate the man two blocks away and took him into custody. A knife in his possession was also seized.

Noah Kawerninski, 19, has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
