Yesterday morning, emergency services responded to a helicopter crash east of Prince George.
At 7:45am, Prince George RCMP and other emergency services were advised that a helicopter had just crashed near Purden Ski Hill.
Tragically, two people on board the helicopter didn’t survive the crash.

“There was a total of six people on board the aircraft at the time of the incident; regrettably, two of the individuals did not survive the crash. Our Victim Services unit is currently working with the families of the deceased, providing ongoing support. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased in their time of mourning,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The aircraft involved was privately owned and had been chartered to do some flights in the area.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash site with help from the RCMP. The B.C. Coroner’s Service will be conducting their separate investigation.
