2 people arrested after shots fired in Surrey’s Guilford neighbourhood

Two people were arrested Friday afternoon after Surrey RCMP received a report of shots being fired in Surrey’s Guilford neighbourhood.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 101 Avenue and 156 Street at around 2:15pm yesterday afternoon.

Two male suspects fled the area in a blue Range Rover, and were later arrested in the area of 198 Street and 57 Avenue in Langley. Surrey RCMP received support from Surrey Traffic Services, Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Services, Air 1 and Langley RCMP to nab the suspects.

“At this time, no injuries have been reported. The investigation is still in its early stages, and police are working to determine the possible motive,” said Sgt. Tammy Lobb.

Surrey RCMP’s General Investigation Unit is leading the investigation. Anyone who was in the area or has dash cam footage is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2023-211668.
