The PNE Fair returns this August, and they have a number of new exhibits and attractions you won’t want to miss out on! The PNE Fair opens for the 2024 season on Saturday, August 17th.
“We are delighted to have the PNE Fair back in full swing, presenting a wide range of entertainment options once again this summer,” President and CEO Shelley Frost states. “There’s something truly special for everyone, with a lineup of fantastic new entertainment and attractions. We’re eager for everyone to discover the exciting experiences we have in store this summer.”
The 2024 PNE Fair features new exhibits and attractions as well as many of your favourite returning activities, including SuperDogs, Blue’s Dance Party, and of course, Playland rides.
Like previous years, this year’s Fair will once again feature Summer Night Concerts. Concerts this year will be held in the Pacific Coliseum as construction is ongoing on the new PNE Amphitheatre slated to open in 2026. This year’s lineup includes Ludacris, Blondie, Flo Rida, Barenaked Ladies, and more.
Admission to the Fair is FREE with the purchase of a concert ticket.
New this year is Music in the Park on the Freedom Mobile Stage. From rock to country, retro hits to the latest Top 40, come sing along to all your favourites! There will be performances by Scott Helman, Whitehorse, Side One, and many more.
Also new this year is the KC Bear Summer Jam, where you are invited let your imagination soar and play in a land of make believe, the TNT Dunk Squad over at the Steve Nash Court, and the XPOGO Stunt Team that will captivate audience with their high-flying acrobatics.
You can’t visit the PNE without checking out the adorable animals in the Livestock Barns. From baby chicks to little piglets, you can interact with an assortment of farm animals. Back this year is the ever-popular Pig Races, which will be held each day at 12pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 4:30pm and 6:30pm.
Stop at the Dinosaurs Around the World exhibit and discover how plate tectonics, land bridges, and volcanic activity allowed dinosaurs to disperse to all corners of the globe.
Back again for 2024 is the Canoe Cultures Society, an Indigenous-led non-profit society dedicated to the art and culture of the Canoe. Guests can see live demonstrations of traditional Canoe carving techniques and discover the work that goes behind making these canoes.
Attendees can also catch Dueling Piano Kings for a music experience like no other. Two piano players crank up the sound, playing everything from classic rock and retro to the latest Top 40!
Head over to the Coca-Cola Stage to see talented drag queens in action and don’t miss out on School of Rock Vancouver hosting its end-of-season performances over at Festival Park.
No trip to the Fair is complete without visiting the Market inside the Forum showcasing over 90 different vendors. Don’t miss out on seeing this year’s PNE Prize Home Display, which is built by Miracon Developments.
Make sure you stick around long enough to catch the nightly pyro music celebration happening over at Freedom Mobile Stage in Festival Park. Feel the beat as high-flying hits erupt into hot musical mash-ups in the sky!
