Canadian actor Donald Sutherland has died at the age of 88.
Donald’s son, Kiefer Sutherland, shared the news on X this morning.
With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. “With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film,” said his son.
“Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.”
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Sutherland rose to fame after starring in films such as The Dirty Dozen (1967), M*A*S*H (1970), and Kelly’s Heroes (1970). He also starred as President Snow in The Hunger Games franchise.
Sutherland also won a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Golden Globe Awards throughout his illustrious career.
