An American tourist has tragically succumbed to his injuries after being hit by a cyclist in Vancouver last week.
A couple visiting from the United States was crossing West Cordova at Richards Street around 5:30pm on Monday, June 29th when they were struck by a cyclist travelling eastbound on Cordova Street.
“The 72-year-old male pedestrian lost consciousness and was transported to Vancouver General Hospital for emergency surgery,” said the VPD.
Sadly, the 72-year-old male died in hospital on July 5th. The man’s wife suffered minor injuries and recovered.

“The cyclist was not injured and remained at the scene,” added the VPD.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
