Andre Braugher, best known for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street and Captain Raymond Holt in the police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, has died at the age of 61.

According to reports, he passed away on Monday after a brief illness.

During his illustrious career, Braugher received two Primetime Emmy Awards from 11 nominations, as well as two Golden Globe Award nominations.
