Localized flooding and several road closures are impacting parts of Metro Vancouver Saturday morning as an atmospheric river continues to drench the region.
A rainfall warning remains in effect for Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, and Whistler.
Between 90 and 150 mm of rain is expected in Metro Vancouver, parts of the Fraser Valley, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor before the storm eases tomorrow. Rainfall amounts exceeding 180 mm is possible over the North Shore Mountains.
“The heavy rain will continue today, then ease somewhat tonight. A second pulse of rain is expected Sunday before the rain ends late Sunday,” states Environment Canada.
The first severe storm of the season has brought flooding and road closures throughout the region.
