Three BC highways under snowfall advisory over May long weekend

In News by Anywhere Vancouver

The May long weekend has arrived, but clearly Mother Nature has other plans.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of snow on three BC highways: the Coquihalla Highway, the Okanagan Connector and Highway 3.

“Falling snow levels in combination with upper level instability and moisture will bring the possibility of snowfall accumulations to Allison Pass and the Pennask and Coquihalla Summits through this long weekend,” says the weather agency.

The weather statement is in effect between Friday evening and Sunday morning.

Drivers are urged to adjust their speed to road conditions and allow extra travel time as conditions deteriorate.

“Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
