Police catch break and enter suspect “sleeping on a couch” inside BC residence

Prince George RCMP arrested a break and enter suspect last weekend after he was caught “sleeping on a couch” inside a residence.



Just before 2am on February 18, a resident on the 5100-block of North Nechako Road reported a “rock had been thrown through a window of their home” and they “could hear a man talking outside”.

“While police officers were responding to this report and searching for the suspect, a second report came in from the 3200-block of Riverview Road of an unknown man walking into a person’s home and leaving after asking the home owner to call 9-1-1,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

After the second call, police received a call from a resident on the 3300-block of Rosia Road after they heard someone “attempt to gain entry through their front door”.



At around 5:30am, police caught the suspect “sleeping on a couch” inside a residence on the 3500-block of Rosia Road.

“Investigators are extending their thanks to the people who contacted police with information on the suspect’s whereabouts, several of whom could see him on their video surveillance passing through the area, as it assisted in ultimately tracking him down,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

The suspect was arrested and is known to police.
