As the Canucks gear up for game 6 of their first round playoff series against the Nashville Predators Friday afternoon, another local city is hosting a viewing party for fans.

The City of Burnaby is hosting FREE Canucks playoff viewing parties at the new Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre.

Burnaby joins Delta and Port Coquitlam as the only Metro Vancouver cities hosting free community viewing parties. Fans are encouraged to wear their jerseys as they watch the big game on large format screens on the second floor of the facility.

Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the café. Parking is limited at this family-friendly gathering and people are encouraged to take transit or consider carpooling.

The Rosemary Brown Recreation Centre is a year-round multi-sport facility with 2 NHL-sized rinks and 2 multipurpose rooms.

The viewing area for game 6 opens at 3:30pm with puck drop slated for 4pm. Another watch party will be held on Sunday if a game 7 is needed.
