A Burnaby resident is seeking help from the public after having priceless items stolen in a smash-and-grab incident.

Anywhere Vancouver spoke with Anthony Prevost, who lost a number of valuable items in the smash-and-grab.

Anthony says a male suspect stole priceless notebooks, a backpack with Prevost’s MacBook, and an iPad. A credit card, debit card, and IDs were also stolen from Anthony’s Honda.

Anthony provided us with a video of the smash-and-grab, which was recorded by a Tesla’s Sentry Mode.

Anthony says the incident happened at the White Spot on Lougheed & Gilmore in Burnaby on July 8th at around 5pm. Before the smash-and-grab, Anthony says the male suspect “was seen scoping out cars and checking through the vehicles windows for items”.

“He then came to my car (a black 05 Honda accord coupe) and saw what he wanted,” said Prevost. After briefly walking away, the male suspect came back to Anthony’s Honda “with a window popper”.

“He then walked away from my car to only come back with a window popper and smash through and grab my grey leather Michael Kors backpack, with my MacBook, iPad and priceless notebooks inside the backpack and then grabbed my beige side bag which had my credit card, debit card, drivers licence and services card,” recounts Anthony.

Prevost believes that the male suspect involved in this incident is the same suspect known for stealing credit cards at Brentwood Mall.

If any of Anthony’s items are found, or if anyone has information, please contact Burnaby RCMP. The police case file number is 23-23362.
