A car fire on Highway 1 Wednesday morning snarled traffic as many were making their way to work.

The incident occurred westbound on Highway 1 just past the 176 Street exit shortly before 9am today.

The westbound right lanes after 176th St were blocked for over an hour and the 176th Street onramp was also partially blocked.

Video footage of the car fire was sent to us by one of our readers.

Just after 10am, the impacted lanes reopened to traffic.

Anywhere Vancouver has reached out to the Surrey RCMP for more information.
