A car accident on Burnaby Mountain over the Canada Day long weekend resulted in a vehicle being flipped upside down on its roof.
The accident involving a black Honda occurred on Sunday, June 30th just before 12:30pm.
“It appears the driver mistook the gas for the brake while parking, and hit a boulder, causing the vehicle to flip onto its roof,” said Burnaby RCMP in an email to Anywhere Vancouver.
A video of the accident was shared on social media, which shows huge crowds gathering around the crash site.

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free at least one person from the passenger side of the vehicle.
“Three ambulances with primary care and advanced care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical care to three patients who were transported to hospital,” said Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites in an email to Anywhere Vancouver.
