On Wednesday night, North Vancouver RCMP received a call about a suspected drunk driver.
Police were told about a man who was seen being “unable to walk and crawling to his vehicle, while smelling of liquor”.
“Caller suspected he was impaired,” said police in a post on X.
Officers were able to locate the driver and arrested him for impaired driving.
While in police custody, the driver provided two breath samples that showed he was more than 3 times over the legal limit.
Penalties for impaired driving in BC can include:
- Driving suspensions from 24 hours to 90 days
- Vehicle impoundment
- Fines, from $600 and up to $4,060
- Jail time
- Mandatory rehabilitation
- Installation of ignition interlock in your vehicle
