Big Superhero Run 2024
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s the Big Superhero Run!
The 2024 Big Superhero Run, hosted by the Big Fun Run Series, takes place at the Richmond Olympic Oval on Wednesday, August 14th.
This superhero-themed run will have participants through the picturesque Middle Arm Trail. Starting at the Olympic Oval, the course winds its way along trails beside the water with views of the mountains and you may even catch flights taking off and landing at YVR Airport!
With mild inclines, a mixture of gravel and trail pathways, everyone is assured a beautiful and accessible run, jog or walk. The course is suitable for all ages and abilities including strollers and leashed dogs.

There are 1k, 5k, and 10k runs taking place throughout the day to choose from, ensuring all superheroes can take part in this family-friendly event.
Each participant will receive a personalized running bib with your own custom “hero name,” a hero eye mask and a finishers medal!
There will also be entertainment throughout the day and organizers will be handing out prizes for a number of categories including best costume, best custom hero name, and even best pet costume!
Below is the full event schedule:
- 5:00pm: Check-in opens
- 5:45pm: 1km warm up
- 6:00pm: 1km starts
- 6:30pm: 1km route closed
- 6:45pm: Awards
- 6:50pm: 5km & 10km warm up
- 7:00pm: 5km & 10km starts
- 9:00pm: Route closed
