Car Free Day Port Coquitlam 2023
For the first-time ever, Car Free Day is coming to Port Coquitlam this September.
Presented by Translink and in partnership with the Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association (PoCo BIA), the city’s first Car Free Day is happening along McAllister Avenue in downtown Port Coquitlam on September 10th from 12pm to 8pm.
This free, family-friendly street party will feature live music, food trucks, children’s entertainment, local breweries, and so much more!

“I encourage our community to join us downtown for a free, fun, family-friendly Car Free Day street festival,” said Mayor Brad West. “Initiatives such as Car Free Days are a great opportunity to try other modes of transportation, whether it’s transit, cycling, walking and more.”
“We’re excited to help support Port Coquitlam’s first-ever Car Free Day as we invite families across our region to experience the best of their neighbourhoods in sustainable ways,” says TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn. “This is the perfect time for people in Metro Vancouver to leave their car keys at home and do their part by committing to a greener future.”
It’s always great when you can explore your city without a car and this event makes it even more fun.
