Carnaval del Sol 2023
The biggest Latin American festival in the Pacific Northwest is returning to Vancouver this summer for a 3-day fiesta party. Carnaval del Sol celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and is set to take over David Lam Park from Friday, July 7th to Sunday, July 9th.
The 3-day festival celebrates Latin American cultures and guests can expect plenty of entertainment, food, a beer garden, dance performances, and much more!

The festival kicks off on July 7th with Carnaval del Sol’s Opening Night Beer Garden.

The Opening Night Beer Garden is a 19+ event and La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop will be onsite serving delicious food to keep you going. Latincouver will have a booth serving churros.
Carnaval del Sol will have nine plazas open throughout the weekend with an assortment of activities you can take part in.
The nine plazas are:
Main Plaza del Sol
Prepare to be mesmerized by over 300 talented performers, showcasing the vibrant essence of Latin, Indigenous, and International cultures. Join in the energetic Zumba and capoeira classes, where you can immerse yourself in the rhythm and movements that ignite the soul.
Family Plaza
This is the second largest plaza and will have family-friendly music, activities, and performances that will captivate visitors of all ages!
Kids Plaza
Here, children of all backgrounds can engage in a variety of activities designed to foster creativity, self-expression, and meaningful connections. For the little ones, the “Creative Cha cha cha” offers an outlet for their artistic spirit, while face painting and captivating hair styles add an extra touch of magic. Other activities offered include playground games like Rope, Twister, and Sack race.
Seniors Plaza
A dedicated space for seniors, this plaza offers the best view of the main stage at the festival. Here, guests can relax in the shade and cool down with a drink. A variety of activities tailored for seniors will be offered, including the classic game of Rana, a traditional Latin American board game.
Food Plaza
The name says it all. Whether you crave the bold and fiery tastes of Mexico, the tangy and tropical delights of the Caribbean, or the savoury and succulent dishes from South America, the Food Plaza has it all.
Experience Plaza
Here, you have the incredible opportunity to witness the masterful art of culinary creation firsthand. Prepare to be captivated as talented chefs showcase their skills and passion, preparing the very best recipes right before your eyes.
Beer Plaza
Drink up! In the Beer Plaza, drinks, music, and Latin style come together to create an unforgettable fiesta. DJ Guitto will set the stage on fire with his electrifying mix of electronic sounds, drums, and gaita, accompanied by stunning lighting and video effects.
VIP Plaza
Take your festival experience to a whole new level. This amazing zone has incorporated the comfort people love at the festival, featuring ample seating, a good vibe, and drinking some free sangrias. Here people recharge energy while also drinking and eating in a private area! The VIP Plaza is exclusive for VIP Pass and Super Pass holders.
Market Plaza
From traditional Latin American spices and delicacies to handcrafted jewelry and artwork, our mercado showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region. This amazing market space will show you all the vibrant sights and colours of Latin America.
