Summer Movie Nights 2026
Free outdoor movies are back in downtown Vancouver this summer!
šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery) will once again be the spot to watch free outdoor movies in downtown Vancouver beginning July 16th.
The movies will play every Thursday from July 16th to August 13th and are organized by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA).
Movies are played on a 33-foot inflatable screen and begin at sundown each evening. Before each movie, crowds will get to enjoy live music, performances, games, food trucks, photo booths, and more!

Some seating is available but it is first come, first serve. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and blankets to stay warm.
Festivities kick off daily at 5 p.m. with live performances, art activities, pre-movie trivia hosted by Drew’s Clues, music from DJ Chip$, and a new roving photographer experience. Each movie begins around 9pm (close to sunset).
As well, if you attend four out of the seven movie nights, you’ll be entered to win a one-night hotel stay plus breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver!
Here is this year’s movie lineup:
- July 16 – She’s The Man
- July 23 – The Hunger Games
- July 30 – Wicked: For Good
- August 6 – 13 Going On 30
- August 13 – Ready Player One
