Ramadan Fest BC 2025
Muslims around the world are preparing to once again observe the holy month of Ramadan, and here in Metro Vancouver, a new night market is helping to bring the community together.
Ramadan Fest BC is happening at the Cloverdale Agriplex in Surrey from Wednesday, March 5th to Sunday, March 9th, 2025. This family-friendly event is organized by Salaam Events, who hosts the BC Halal Food Fest each year in the summer, and recently put on the inaugural Halal Expo.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and for Muslims around the world, it’s a time for fasting, prayer, reflection, and building a sense of community. From dawn to sunset, worshippers abstain from food, drink, and other physical needs in an effort to focus on their faith.
Attendees will get to discover delicious food offerings, local artisan vendors, light displays, and much more!

“We’ll have festive lights on display, similar to Christmas, except it’s Ramadan-themed,” said Yosof Hakimi from Salaam Events. “We’ll have over 120 market vendors selling different cultural items and different local artisan craft items, clothes, jewellery, and different packaged delicacies and other things.”

Yosof says there will also be a heated dining space to eat comfortably, a dedicated prayer space, and keynote speakers that will cover a range of topics.
During Ramadan, the meal eaten before dawn is called suhoor and the meal that’s eaten at sunset by Muslims to break their fast is called iftar. Yosof says this event will help the local Muslims celebrate this special time with the larger Metro Vancouver community.
“It’s an open entry event and, just like Christmas, it’s a big celebration with lots of festivities and although there’s a lot of cultural elements to it, it stems from a religious festival,” added Yosof. “We are bringing this event to Surrey, which is open to everybody, to have a good time, learn a little bit about Ramadan, and have some fun.”

Ramadan Fest BC will be open each day from 4pm to 3am. There are two ticket options to choose from: The iftar timing tickets allows for entry from 4pm to 9pm and the suhoor timing tickets gives you entry into the event from 9:30pm to 3am.
Organizers say they are already 70% sold out for their weekend dates, so don’t wait too long to grab your tickets! Single tickets are $5 (plus service fee), and there is a discount when you buy multiple tickets.
