
Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival 2023
Cherry blossoms are blooming across Metro Vancouver and one cherry blossom festival is returning this weekend for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic. The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is returning to Garry Point Park on Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.
Established in 2017, this festival showcases the splendor of the 255 Akebono cherry trees in Garry Point Park.
This FREE community event brings the community together to enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossom alongside the cultural richness of Japan.

Between 11 am and 4 pm, the Matsuri Tent will offer displays and demonstrations from local artisans including calligraphy, bonsai and origami, as well as the opportunity to experience a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony.
Over in the Sakura Tent, visitors can experience an ikebana demonstration, and performances by taiko drummers, folk singers and dancers.
Children of all ages are invited to the Chibi-Chan Tent to learn how to fold origami creatures using special Japanese papers and techniques.
This event will also have a number of food trucks and vendors onsite, including Buzz Coffee Truck, Cravings Kettle Corn, Japadog, Kyu Grill, Takeya Sushi, Teapressu, Tokyo Katsu-Sand, and Wakwak Burger.
The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is a true cultural experience that has something for everyone to enjoy.
