Summer Movie Nights 2025
Nothing says summer quite like outdoor movies.
šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énḵ Square (north plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery) will once again be the spot to watch free outdoor movies in downtown Vancouver beginning this July.
The movies will play every Thursday from July 3rd to August 14th and are organized by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA).
Movies are played on a 33-foot inflatable screen and begin at sundown each evening. Before each movie, crowds will get to enjoy live music, performances, games, food trucks, photo booths, and more!

Vendors such as Gary’s Kettle Corn, Oddity Kombucha, and the Chickpea food truck will be on-site each week as crowds gather to watch popular movies in the heart of downtown.
Some seating is available but it is first come, first serve. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and blankets to stay warm.
Here is this year’s movie lineup:
- July 3 – Bring It On
- July 10 – The Wild Robot
- July 17 – Little Women
- July 24 – Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
- July 31 – The Wizard of Oz
- August 7 – Wicked
- August 14 – Inception
Performances and art activities begin at 5pm each night, and movies will start around 9pm (close to sunset). Costume contests with plenty of prizes up for grabs are also returning, and if you attend four out of the seven movie nights, you’ll be entered to win a one-night stay for two at Hyatt Regency Vancouver that also includes breakfast at Mosaic Grille!
