Witchilano SUP Paddle 2025
Ditch your broom stick and instead grabbing a paddle board for a fun Halloween event on the water!
The 5th annual Witchilano SUP Paddle returns to the waters of Vancouver on Saturday, October 4th. Starting at Kitsilano Beach, witches and warlocks will cackle their way toward Granville Island as they cast spells along the way.
Wear your best costume and dress mostly in black “for the best spooky vibes” as you venture out into the water on your stand-up paddle board (SUP).
“Invite experienced SUP friends and spread the word! – the more the SPOOKIER,” says event organizers.

Participants will gather at Kitsilano Beach (located on Cornwall Ave at the north end of Yew St) on the beach in front of the main washroom building at 11am to take some photos before hitting the water at 11:30am. Participants can do the full-round trip, or simply just one-way to Granville Island.
While everyone is welcome to take part in this eerie event, prior stand-up paddle board experience is recommended.
“All paddle levels welcome and no one will be left behind, but this should not be your first time on the board nor should you feel uncomfortable on a board,” adds organizers.
Each paddler needs to bring a PFD and a leash. No lifeguards will be present at the event.
During this free community event, organizers will be collecting donations for Share Family and Community Services. They are looking for people to bring canned goods, whole grain rice or legumes, and baby formula. Cash is also welcome and greatly appreciated.
“Please don’t forget to bring donations – think of it as your small price of admission and a way to spread some light.”
