Cherry blossom-themed bites and drinks get most of the attention during the spring, but Vancouver’s culinary scene has so much more to offer!
Here are 15 food events happening in Vancouver this April you need to know about.
Richmond Night Market
About: The popular night market was founded in 2000, and attracts over a million visitors a year with its delicious lineup of international cuisine, entertainment, and more! This year’s theme is “Little Wonder World,” and attendees can make their way through more than 500 food options.
With the FIFA World Cup coming to town, this year’s market will even feature a massive soccer display.

About: Copperpenny Distilling Co. will welcome tide-to-table destination Fanny Bay Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market to host a new series of Sunday Shucking Pop-Ups. Happening on March 22nd, April 12th, May 10th (Mother’s Day) and May 31st, the events will help bring together oyster aficionados and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
At each event, Fanny Bay master shucker Hannah Nguyen will serve up premium oyster varieties and seasonally inspired Shucker’s Choice selections for $21 a half dozen or $39 a dozen. As for drinks, the Copperpenny bar team will offer a curated menu of gin-based libations created especially for the occasion.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Festival
About: This spring, locals can visit cafes and bakeries to try special cherry blossom-themed treats. Over 20 local shops are serving up more than 70 limited-edition treats to try this year. Stores participating this year include Boketto, Boba Run, Coffee Loft, and Wren Cafe.

Italian Kitchen
About: Italian Kitchen’s new regional menu transports guests to the celebrated Italian region of Trentino. Discover dishes such as Cajinci Ricotta & Beetroot, spinach-infused half-moon ravioli with gorgonzola cream, Tagiloini Porcini e Speck, spruced tip-infused egg pasta with smoked pork shoulder, or Bistecca di Cervo, and grilled venison stripling with parsnip puree.

Shuck For The Ocean by Ocean Wise
About: Shuck for the Ocean is a fundraiser being held at Fanny Bay Oyster Bar & Shellfish Market that’s dedicated to sustainable seafood. In partnership with Ocean Wise and Vancouver Island Brewing, this event brings together Vancouver’s oyster shucking community for a high-energy competition alongside fresh B.C. oysters, local brews, and engaging conversations around ocean conservation.
The event will also include engaging educational talks from Ocean Wise and leading industry experts, along with raffles, exciting prizes, and a silent auction. A portion of every ticket sold supports Ocean Wise.

Five Sails Spring Tasting Menu
About: Enjoy Five Sails’ latest tasting menu against the stunning backdrop of the North Shore mountains. The Altitude: BC Spring is a new tasting menu by Chef Alex Kim and his team that celebrates the diversity of British Columbia’s landscapes and ingredients.
From coastal waters to alpine peaks, the multi-course experience showcases the season through a thoughtful progression of dishes such as oyster with yuzu and spring garlic, scallop mandu with shellfish bisque, Fraser Valley chicken, and spring lamb with stinging nettle chimichurri. The menu is paired with a curated selection of B.C. wines, sake, and cider.

Halibut Season at Coast Restaurant
About: Halibut Season is back at Coast Restaurant, and guests are in for a special treat this year! Enjoy shareable plates like halibut ceviche with lime and taro chips, crispy hushpuppies with smoked paprika aioli, or dumplings with black pepper and sweet soy chili.
