Food events happening in Vancouver this March
Copperpenny Distilling Co.
About: Copperpenny Distilling Co. will welcome tide-to-table destination Fanny Bay Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market to host a new series of Sunday Shucking Pop-Ups. Happening on March 22nd, April 12th, May 10th (Mother’s Day) and May 31st, the events will help bring together oyster aficionados and cocktail enthusiasts alike.
At each event, Fanny Bay master shucker Hannah Nguyen will serve up premium oyster varieties and seasonally inspired Shucker’s Choice selections for $21 a half dozen or $39 a dozen. As for drinks, the Copperpenny bar team will offer a curated menu of gin-based libations created especially for the occasion.

Cabane à Sucre at St. Lawrence
About: Now available throughout March, Michelin-starred restaurant St. Lawrence has brought back Cabane à Sucre, reimagined as a refined seasonal dining series.
Dishes as part of the menu include Truite Mariné & Fumé, Crème à l’Aneth (Maple smoked & cured Steelhead trout, dill cream), Raviolis de Confit de Canard (Duck confit stuffed pasta, duck ham, maple duck jus) and Morue Rôti, Petit Pois Cassé & Beurre Fumé (Maple-marinated sablefish, yellow peas & smoked butter sauce).

Vancouver International Wine Festival
About: The 47th Vancouver International Wine Festival is taking place from March 7 to 14 at various venues across the city. Over 100 wineries will be joining this year’s festival, offering something for every level of wine drinker, collector and trade professional.

$60 anniversary menu at Kobe Japanese Steakhouse

About: Kobe Japanese Steakhouse is celebrating its 58th anniversary this month with a limited-time prix-fixe $60 anniversary menu beginning Monday, March 9th. Available Mondays through Thursdays from 5pm to 11pm, the menu showcases the dishes that have made it a favourite of locals and visitors alike since it opened its doors in 1968.
Start with Shabu Shabu soup, fresh seasonal vegetables, and teppan shrimp served with steamed rice, followed by flame-kissed tiger prawns, sirloin steak, and teriyaki chicken, and finish with a choice of Mario’s Gelati for dessert.

Available daily from 5pm to 7pm, it features an 8oz King River Wagyu Burger (caramelized onions, aged cheddar, black truffle aioli), Triple Cooked Fries and a Baked Apple Pie served with a 1.5 oz Grey Goose Tiny ’Tini (Grey Goose, dry vermouth, lemon peel) with a toy included for $39 per person plus tax and gratuity.
During D/6’s daily Happy Hour (5pm to 7pm) and all day on Sundays, guests can enjoy 25% off share plates like Jumbo Prawn Cocktails with atomic horseradish and wasabi cocktail sauce, Crab Cakes served with sea bean and fennel salad and vadouvan-spiced curry aioli, and Chicken Kara-Age with agave citrus and red chili dip.
