Valentine’s Chocolate Making Workshop
About: Chocolate is always a great gift idea, and ahead of Valentine’s Day, the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts is hosting a chocolate making workshop.
Spend the day learning the art of crafting a heart-shaped chocolate box filled with handmade chocolate truffle bonbons. You’ll also master the delicate skill of making chocolate paste roses.

About: Halal Expo Vancouver is taking place on Friday, February 7th and Saturday, February 8th at the Cloverdale Agriplex. From the creators of BC Halal Food Fest, this new expo looks to showcase Halal lifestyle brands, products, and an array of services.
The event will showcase 120+ exhibitors, including packaged food and beverage companies, health and wellness brands, suppliers, and much more. Some vendors that will be at the event include Dunes Bean & Leaf, Candy Cottage, and The Waffle Co. to name just a few.

About: Now in its 23rd year, Dine Out Vancouver is a festival that brings together hundreds of chefs, more than 300 restaurants, wineries, craft breweries, suppliers and more!
The festival runs from January 22nd to February 9th, 2025, and participating restaurants will have multi-course dinner menus ranging from $20 to $65.

About: The second event in the exciting Sommelier Showdown series is taking place at Five Sails this winter, featuring renowned sommeliers Nick Bertoia (L’Abattoir, Published on Main, Bar Susu) and Randy Chafe (Fairmont Hotels, The Vancouver Club). The two will go head-to-head in a battle to pair their wines with a spectacular four-course dinner crafted by Five Sails Culinary Director Alex Kim.
Kim recently claimed the crown as the nation’s top chef at the 2025 Canadian Culinary Championship in Ottawa. He qualified for the competition alongside nine other chefs after winning one of Canada’s Great Kitchen Party regional competitions held across the country.
