Four people have been arrested after an early morning shooting in Surrey left one man deceased.
The Surrey RCMP received a call of a shooting in the 900-block of 164 Street around 8:46am Friday morning. When officers arrived, they located a 29-year old man deceased.
“A short time later, police were advised of a vehicle fire in the 18500-block of McMillan Road,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT in a release.
“As a result of the quick coordinated response of Surrey RCMP, Air 1 and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, four suspects were identified and taken into custody.”
Initial evidence suggests this was a targeted shooting and police have identified the victim. The victim’s name will not be released at this time.
“IHIT is in the process of transitioning the investigation from the Surrey RCMP and are thankful for their excellent work,” added Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We will continue to be in the area processing the scene and canvassing for witnesses.”
Anyone with information is asked to to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
