Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade

Surrey Vaisakhi Parade
About: The largest Vaisakhi parade in the world is returning to Surrey this weekend, and is once again expected to draw massive crowds as the community comes out to celebrate this important religious festival.
The Surrey Khalsa Day Vaisakhi Parade is taking place on Saturday, April 19th. Each year, the annual event draws over 500,000 attendees.
The parade will begin at approximately 9am at Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar Temple, located at 12885-85 Avenue, and will conclude at 5pm. The parade will travel along 124th Street and turn left onto 75th Avenue. From there it’ll continue on 76th Avenue and onto 128th Street before reaching the Temple. The parade will feature a variety of floats, community groups, live music and dancers.

About: The Abbotsford Tulip Festival, put on by Lakeland Flowers, is scheduled to open on Saturday, April 5th, which is described as a “three-month cascade of flowers”.
This year’s event features 35 acres of tulips and lupins, creating a remarkable display of colour that will leave you in awe.

Survival of the Slowest at the Vancouver Aquarium

About: Happening on weekends from March 27th to May 11th, the Sweet Spring Flower and Animal Festival welcomes visitors to enjoy more than 100,000 tulips in full bloom, a breathtaking ‘Tulip River’, Dutch-inspired sights like footbridges and a windmill, and take a train ride through their spring tunnel.
Things keep rolling along at the farm with Easter celebrations on April 12 and 13 and 18-20. Beginning at 9am each day, kids can hunt for eggs in the Greendale Apple Orchard, enjoy face painting, admire the farm animals. Adults can also get in on the fun by cozying up by fire pits, and enjoying seasonal food and drink features.

Easterfest at Taves Family Farms
About: Easter is quickly coming up, and Taves Family Farms is once again going all out! Snuggle with adorable farm animals, search for easter eggs, and say hi to the Easter Bunny! Favourite activities like pedal karts, jumping pillows and the petting barn will also be open during Easterfest.
Not to mention, there will be a separate egg hunt area for dogs, with the opportunity to get some delicious treats! No Easter trip to Taves Family Farms is complete without their festive bites, treats and drinks.

West Coast Amusements Coquitlam Carnival

About: As the largest tulip festival in Canada, the Harrison Tulip Festival invites you to discover 40 acres of colourful tulip fields, showcasing over 12 million tulip and double daffodil bulbs.
For 2025, they have expanded their “Secret Garden” to over 4 acres with an impressive variety of tulips, mini grapes, and fritillaria.
There are plenty of photo ops, so don’t forget your camera!

Big Fun Run Series
About: Hop, run and walk your way through the 10th annual Big Easter Run happening in Vancouver this weekend! This Easter-themed fun run, hosted by the Big Fun Run Series, takes place at picturesque Jericho Beach Park on Saturday, April 19th.
Starting near the concession stand, the course winds its way along trails surrounded by spring blooms, twisting through the forest and then looping onto the beach side path. Participants will get to enjoy unbeatable views of the North Shore and Vancouver skyline!
There are 1k – 3k, 5k, and 10k runs taking place throughout the day to choose from, ensuring everyone in your family can have a fun time! Kids entered into the 1k – 3k run can also take part in the Gnubees Egg hunt at 1:15pm.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival
About: Taking place from March 26 to April 28, the festival is an opportunity for people to appreciate and discover the roughly 43,000 cherry blossom trees across the city.
In addition to the trees, the festival puts on accessible public performances and exhibitions, creating a sense of community through art.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Festival
About: This spring, locals can visit cafes and bakeries to try special cherry blossom-themed treats. Over 20 local stores are participating, including Sweet7, Nana’s Green Tea, and The Bunny Cafe to name just a few.

About: The two-week festival offers two-for-one deals, prix-fixe menus, and more at various local restaurants, wine bars, breweries, and attractions.
