GoFundMe page set up for 17-year-old boy fatally stabbed on Surrey bus

A GoFundMe fundraiser page has been set up to support the family of 17-year-old Ethan Bespflug, who has been identified as the victim of Tuesday night’s fatal stabbing on board a Surrey bus.

The stabbing happened shortly after 9:00 pm in the 9900-block of King George Boulevard in Surrey. Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on a bus. The 17-year-old teen was transported to hospital and later succumbed to his fatal injuries.

“The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with Surrey RCMP,” says Cpl. Vanessa Munn.

The GoFundMe page was set up by Daphni Miller, who Ethan’s aunt.

“April 11th my nephew Ethan was targeted on a bus ride home where he lost his life,” reads the GoFundMe page.

“Ethan just turned 17 years old he had so much life ahead of him, a good kid, a kind kid a loving brother, son, grandson, uncle, friend, he always helped with his siblings always told his family how much he loves us, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it.”

Donations with go towards covering funeral costs and helping Ethan’s family cover expenses as they grieve during this difficult time.

Police so far believe that that this was a targeted and isolated incident.
