With summer now in the rearview mirror, Greendale Acres in Chilliwack is hosting a series of family-friendly events this weekend to both celebrate and honour our local communities.
Friday, September 27th is Grandparents’ Day at Greendale Acres. Guests can show their gratitude for all the great (and yes, great-great) grandparents in their lives during a special day when all grandparents visit free when accompanied by a grandchild who is paying general admission or a child with a membership.
On Saturday, visit the farm for Fireside Music Night! Beginning at 7:30pm, this 19+ event invites guests to gather around, curl up on a blanket and relax with friends at a cozy private fire pit of their own while enjoying music by Larry Edwards. Fire pits for up to six guests are $150 and $200 for a group of eight.

The long weekend is capped off with Truth and Reconciliation Day on Monday, September 30. Open from 10am to 6pm, all Indigenous community members can enjoy free admission to the farm.
As part of Greendale Acres’ acknowledgement that its team lives and works on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, it will mark the solemn occasion of National Truth and Reconciliation Day, also known as Orange Shirt Day, by encouraging visitors to wear orange. The farm is also inviting visitors to take part in a Sharing of Culture ceremony and making traditional Bannock bread from 11am to 2pm.
Partial proceeds from the day and bannock sales will be donated to the Chilliwack-based Memiyelhtel Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program, which provides holistic, long-term and intensive support services for vulnerable Indigenous youth.
