In a multicultural city like Vancouver, where diversity thrives and cultures intersect, the need for inclusive dining options has never been more apparent. As the fourth largest religion in Metro Vancouver, Canadian Muslims seek access to Halal food options not only during the holy month of Ramadan, but throughout the year.



As we spoke with many local residents of the Muslim faith, a common theme emerged that finding Halal, family-friendly restaurants isn’t always easy.

For Aishah Ismail, “dining out during Ramadan isn’t just about breaking your fast but about joy and social connection with friends and family”.

Afghan Kitchen

Afghan cuisine is a tantalizing fusion of vibrant spices, tender meats, and fragrant rice, reflecting centuries of cultural influences from the Silk Road. Muiz recommends Al Porto Ristorante as his go-to place for pasta. Located in Vancouver, Al Porto Ristorante offers a delightful blend of Italian flavors and a welcoming ambiance. Renowned for its seafood selections, this gem caters to halal dietary needs with a diverse menu. Yelp gave it a 3.5 rating out of 5.
