The Vancouver Canucks completed an incredible comeback victory on Wednesday night to beat the Edmonton Oilers in game 1 and even head coach Rick Tocchet was fired up.
After the game, Tocchet let out his emotions just like a normal fan, which is a far cry from his usual stoic demeanour. Tocchet was heading back to the dressing up when he started high-fiving fans.
“I don’t know, it’s usually not me,” said Tocchet to reports postgame.
“I don’t even know if I cheered when Lindy had that overtime goal in Nashville.”
“It’s Game 1, you know. I actually don’t like seeing me doing that, to be honest with you. I really don’t, not Game 1,” said Tocchet with a smile on his face.

J.T. Miller, Nikita Zadorov, and Conor Garland scored in the third period to complete the 5-4 comeback at Rogers Arena. The home crowd really came alive in the third period as the Canucks secured the game 1 victory.
“The crowd was really loud and it was a lot of fun,” said Elias Lindholm to reporters after the game.
