As the region continues to be impacted by an atmospheric river, Metro Vancouver drivers were faced with a messy morning commute today.
A number of highways across the region were backed up in the morning and traffic issues still persistent into the early afternoon.
Southbound traffic on Highway 99 near the Massey Tunnel led to huge delays that are still impacting motorists.
Over on Highway 1, a vehicle incident has the northbound right lane blocked at the north end of the Cassiar Tunnel.
Major delays were also reported on Highway 91 with drivers using the Alex Fraser Bridge for their morning commute.
Early Wednesday morning, Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver as an atmospheric river drenches the region. The weather warning states the rain will continue into the evening and some areas will see up to 80 mm of rain.
