Local artist brings art to the table at Honey Salt’s latest dining experience this week

The culinary and art worlds are set to collide at Honey Salt’s latest art-dinner series this week.

Honey Salt Executive Chef Johann Caner welcomes celebrated local artist Deville for the third instalment of their ongoing Art-Dinner Series on Thursday, April 3rd.

Guests will get to enjoy canapés and a four-course set menu from Caner and his culinary team showcasing dishes inspired by Deville.

With pen and ink at her disposal, Deville creates worlds inhabited by thousands of unique characters. The inspiration for her work comes from real and imagined fashion and pushes the conceptual limits of how humans can adorn themselves. Her best-known piece ‘Everyone I’ve Met’ fully realizes her unique vision by attempting the seemingly impossible task of drawing everyone she had ever met in her life.

The four-course menu includes Tourteau aux Fromage, Shrimp & Black Garlic Dumplings, Wagyu Beef Cheek, and Canvas of Mignardises. The cost is $69 per person, and wine pairings from some of BC’s wineries can be included for an additional $45 per person.

During the event, Deville will be interacting with guests, and will create an original, of-the-moment work. The finished art peice will be silent auctioned to benefit Growing Chefs. This local organization aims to foster systemic change towards healthy and sustainable food practices by connecting local chefs and kids to champion community health and wellness initiatives, reduce social isolation and provide access to healthy, nourishing meals.

Previous instalments of their Art-Dinner Series have sold out, so reservations are highly recommended!
