Richmond RCMP is investigating human remains discovered in the waters near an industrial area in Richmond Tuesday.
Police received a report of possible human remains “located in the water where Williams Road meets the Fraser River” at 12:15pm Tuesday afternoon.
When police arrived, they located the human remains.
“Richmond RCMP is working closely with BC Coroners Service to identify the remains and determine circumstances that led to their death,” said Cpl. Adriana O’Malley in a release.
“The investigation is in the early stages and no additional information will be released at this time.”
On July 11th, human remains were found in in Richmond’s Hamilton neighbourhood. Police have not said if the two incidents are connected in any way.
“The investigation is on going . At this time, no foul play is suspected,” said Sgt. Gurbir Mondair at the time.
In Vancouver, two women’s bodies washed up on two separate beaches just a few days ago. Officers responded to a call at 1:30pm Monday afternoon after a woman’s body was discovered on the shoreline near the Kitsilano Yacht Club. Another woman was found deceased in the water at Vancouver’s Sunset Beach around 10am Sunday morning.
