On Sunday, Italian Day on the Drive once again took over Commercial Drive, an event the local community has been waiting to see come back for the past 3 years due to the pandemic.
The festivities kicked off at 12pm with green, white, and red decorations lining the streets to welcome the community back.
The 2023 theme for the 14 block cultural street festival was Renaissance, which organizers said is all about new beginnings.

Held annually on the second Sunday of June and identified in the City of Vancouver’s list of Official Observances and Celebrations under June’s Italian Heritage Month umbrella, Italian Day on The Drive is a vibrant cultural street festival celebrating Italian culture, heritage and community.
This year’s event had 160 street participants comprised of patios, local merchants merchants, and food trucks.
From delicious food vendors lining the streets to musical performances, Italian Day on the Drive delivered an unforgettable community event.
