In a shocking twist, Lil Tay is apparently alive. On Wednesday, a statement was posted on her Instagram page saying that the social media star and her brother had died.
However, Lil Tay spoke with TMZ and said that her Instagram account was hacked.
“I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say,” said Lil Tay to TMZ.
“It’s been a very traumatizing 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heartbreaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.”
She goes on to say that her account was hacked by a 3rd party and spread misinformation about her.
“My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumours regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not “Claire Hope”.”
It was also reported on Wednesday that both the Vancouver and Los Angeles Police Departments have not been investigating Lil Tay’s death.
The original Instagram post stating that the internet sensation and her brother are dead has since been deleted.
Lil Tay became a popular social media personality who would post herself rapping and showing off her expensive possessions.
