The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says a man has been charged with assault after being arrested in the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone Monday evening.
Officers patrolling the Granville Street Pedestrian Zone were approached by a woman around 6pm last night who “identified a man she said swung his fist in her direction”.
When officers approached the man to speak with him, he allegedly tried to “punch another woman”.
The suspect fled from police but was arrested following a brief foot chase.
“The man has been the subject of several complaints involving violence and confrontational behaviour in the Granville Pedestrian Zone,” said the VPD.
