An investigation has been launched after a man was assaulted and robbed in a New Westminster neighbourhood last month.

Police responded to Boyd Street near the ICBC lot in Queensborough after reports that a man had been attacked by two suspects. The victim was found bleeding from a head injury he had sustained.

“The victim shared that he was struck, punched, and kicked before the suspects stole his personal items,” reads a release from police. “The suspects are not known to the victim.”

The Lower Mainland Integrated Police Dog Service was called in to assist with the search, but the two suspects were not found. The victim was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital to receive treatment.

“Investigators are conducting an extensive canvass of the area for CCTV footage and speaking with witnesses,” stated Communications Officer Hailey Finnigan. “We’re asking anyone who may have seen this incident or who has surveillance or dash cam footage from the area to please contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.
