A 27-year-old man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder in connection to the fatal stabbing of Kulwinder Singh Sohi in White Rock last month.
27-year old Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth from Surrey was arrested on April 29 in connection to the fatal stabbing of 26-year-old Kulwinder Singh Sohi.
The White Rock RCMP responded to a report of injured man in the 15400-block of Marine Drive just before 9:30pm on April 23rd. The 26-year-old was found on the White Rock Promenade at the parking lot adjacent to the Grand Chief Bernard Robert Charles (Pa-Kwach-Tun) Memorial Plaza suffering from stab wounds.
Investigators said at the time no charges have been laid against Hyacinth at this time in connection to the fatal stabbing, but that he is facing charges related to another stabbing.

On April 21, 28-year-old Jatinder Singh was transported to hospital after being stabbed on the White Rock Promenade. The victim was transported to hospital by Emergency Health Services with non-life-threatening injuries. IHIT announced Tuesday Hyacinth is now being charged with aggravated assault in connection to the April 21 stabbing of of Jatinder Singh.
On May 3rd, IHIT announced Hyacinth was charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Kulwinder Singh Sohi.
“These events have had a significant impact on a community,” says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “I hope that today’s announcement provides a further sense of relief to those who frequent the White Rock promenade.”
