A 35-year-old man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder in connection to a woman’s death in the University Endowment Lands near UBC.
RCMP officers responded to a call of a “female in medical distress” just before 11:45pm inside a residence in the 5400-block of Shortcut Road.
When police arrived, they found a deceased woman inside. Two individuals, a man and a woman, were arrested on scene.
On Thursday, 35-year-old Yang “Christopher” Liang was charged with 2nd-degree murder in connection to the ongoing investigation.
“As the parties were known to one another, investigators believe this may have been a tragic incident of intimate partner violence,” says Corporal Esther Tupper of IHIT.
