Police are searching for a suspect after an e-scooter rider in Vancouver was hit in the face with a hammer.
The victim was riding an e-scooter near Gladstone Street and Vaness Avenue around 10:30pm Monday when the incident occurred. An unidentified man approached the victim from behind on a silver bicycle and “struck him in the face with a hammer”.
“Police also received a report from a second individual who stated that a suspect matching the same description threatened him with a hammer,” said Cst. Megan Lui in a release.
“No assault occurred in that incident.”

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40s, with a grey buzz cut and facial stubble. He was last seen wearing a grey t-shirt, black pants, and black shoes, and riding a silver bicycle.
Anyone with information or dash cam footage are asked to contact police.
