34-year-old man stabbed to death in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside

A 34-year-old man was stabbed to death in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside yesterday afternoon.

Just after 3pm yesterday afternoon, a person walking along the sidewalk stopped when they “noticed the victim bleeding on the ground and called 911”. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died.

“The victim was found lying in the middle of the busy sidewalk mid-block, on the south side of East Hastings, between Columbia and Carrall Streets”, says VPD Constable Jason Doucette.

“This sidewalk is enclosed by a construction tunnel. We know there are witnesses who saw what happened and we are asking them to come forward.”

No arrests have been made yet by police.

Investigators from the VPD’s Homicide Unit in charge of this murder investigation would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage around that time.
