A man has been charged and remains in custody after a married couple in their 70s was assaulted in Vancouver’s Chinatown neighbourhood last week.
Police say a married couple in their 70s were working Thursday morning in their store when the suspect “entered and began causing a disturbance”.
When they asked the suspect to leave, the victims were assaulted, suffering various injuries.

On Saturday, officers patrolling the neighbourhood spotted the suspect near East Pender Street and Main Street.
“The suspect was arrested and taken to jail,” said Sgt. Steve Addison.
The suspect is 50-year-old Wayne Ronald Northey, 50, who has been charged with one count of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm.
