A mountain biker was attacked by a cougar Sunday afternoon on a popular Sunshine Coast trail.
Around 3:30pm on Sunday, a woman was mountain biking along a trail in the Roberts Creek area, near the B+K FSR, when she was chased by a cougar.
The BC Conservation Officer Service (BCCOS) says the cougar “lunged and swatted at the woman”. She sustained minor injuries that were treated in hospital.
“A group of nearby trail builders arrived moments after the encounter and scared the cougar off,” says the BCCOS.

Two trails near of the attack site are closed and the public is being asked to respect the closures.
