Police are advising the public about a road closure in Coquitlam due to a mudslide.
Quarry Road is currently closed in both directions between Calgary Drive and MacIntyre Road. Police responded to the mudslide at 12:30pm Saturday afternoon.
Responding officers “observed a large amount of fast-moving water and debris across the road”.
“Due to the treacherous conditions, the mudslide area is unstable, dangerous and unsafe,” said Cpl Alexa Hodgins, Media Relations Officer of the Coquitlam RCMP. “We are urging the public to stay out of the area and shelter in a safe place”.

A strong atmospheric river continues to hammer the South Coast, resulting in overflowing creeks, localized flooding, and numerous road closures.
In Langley, police responded to a “possible sinkhole” Saturday morning that has shut down 40th Avenue in both directions between 216 Street and 212 Street.
