North Vancouver cyclist killed in collision with truck, police seeking dashcam footage

A North Vancouver cyclist is dead following a deadly collision with a commercial truck Monday morning.

The collision occurred shortly before 10:30am at the intersection of Lonsdale Ave and 23rd St in North Vancouver.

North Vancouver RCMP officers were en route to an unrelated matter when they came upon the collision.

“Officers immediately applied life saving measures on the cyclist, however, tragically, she was pronounced deceased by medical personnel a short time later,”said Cst. Mansoor Sahak of the North Vancouver RCMP.

Police were able to identify the cyclist as a resident of North Vancouver in her 40’s.

The driver of the commercial truck remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. This investigation is being led by the North Vancouver RCMP traffic unit and the Integrated Collision Analyst Reconstruction Service (ICARS).

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.

At this moment, police are asking anyone who witnessed or has video of the collision to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604 985 1311 and quote file 23-4384.
