One person charged in connection to forgery lab in Richmond

One person has been charged in connection to a identification forgery lab in Richmond.

Richmond RCMP’s Economic Crime Unit (ECU) and Drug Target Team executed a search warrant at a residence of a suspected forgery lab on December 22nd, 2022.



Officers discovered evidence consistent with a sophisticated forged identification lab.

On May 3rd, 2024, charges were approved against Ameer Ayube, including:

  • Trafficking In Identity Information
  • Identity theft
  • Possession of forgery instrument



“This successful investigation by Richmond RCMP underscored our commitment to combating fraud in our community. We urge all victims of fraud to come forward and report any incidents. Your information is crucial in helping us protect and serve our residents effectively,” says Staff Sgt. Patrick Damgaijian.

A warrant remains outstanding for the man’s arrest on these charges.
